It wasn't his idea in the least. Wayne Scot Lukas is just trying to sell his new book. If what he is saying now were remotely true, he could've cleared Janet's name 17 years ago. (He testified otherwise under oath when this case was brought to court with the FFC).

this doesn't actually prove that it wasn't JT's idea. It just talks about what these two people were paid to do. And I'm sure if Janet was pushed into doing this stunt, she'd want a confidentiality agreement signed as well to protect herself...and probably even to protect JT who still threw her under the bus.

So, you're saying that Timberlake didn't know...at all...what was going to happen...in the rehearsed, choreographed show...that he was a part of? Because while the headline was that he "pushed" for this, if you read it carefully, the stylist is saying that Justin and Janet were on the same page about doing it.
The problem is that Justin then acted like he wasn't involved in the concept, planning, and execution and, was, basically a patsy. That's what the stylist ultimately is confirming for us. That Justin knew and was an enthusiastic contributer and participant.

No, I am well aware JT was an enthusiastic participant. That much is obvious.

What I'm saying is, the narrative that implies it was his idea that he pushed onto Janet to get back at Britney is ridiculous.

That was my first reaction, too, until I read the piece and it seemed like the stylist wasn't really saying what the headline claimed. Which is pretty normal nowadays, unfortunately. I can't see how anyone would want to make woobies out of either Janet or Justin. They're both saavy adults at the time now and it was obvious from the minute he snatched her leather top that they both wanted this to be shocking moment that would dominate the headlines for days. But like someone else wrote, the Superbowl isn't the VMAs. And a network isn't cable.
