I know everyone writes her off as a one hit wonder but I actually liked a lot of her older stuff when I was younger. Ordinary Day? Pretty Baby? The One??? I used to like White Houses a lot as a kid before realising as an adult it was about losing your virginity 😅 I got curious and listened to her recent album and it’s actually quite good! Very moody and atmospheric.

I was just listening to ordinary day and white houses in my car tbh!! My friend wasn’t into her baby voice, which is much more noticeable listening to her as an adult haha

I love “White Houses”! It was on a Bath and Body Works CD when I worked there, and it was right after I graduated from college, so even though I know it’s about virginity, I still associate with college. “Nolita Fairytale” was on the same BBW CD and I still have them both on iTunes to this day.

I was a CHILD. I thought she just scraped her knee falling off a bike or something.

Twilight, Pretty Baby and White Houses were my favorite. I even liked her cover of Pain it Black.

I loved all of her music so much as a kid! Heroes & Thieves, White Houses, Annie, and Fools Like Me were my favorite.

I always come in here and praise Vanessa Carlton. She is legit. "Heroes and Thieves" is an amazing album and I wish she'd go back to that more robust sound. Her last 3 albums have been very spare and pared down and while it's nice the songs don't bang like the ones on Heroes and Thieves do.
