They wanted to do what Marvel did with none of the patience Marvel had... smdh. And the DCCU could have been so epic, too. At least some of their solo movies like Shazam are decent.

I guess I'll just have to stick with TV for my DC stuff. Doom Patrol is real good and I'm lowkey excited for the HBO Green Lantern show.

Comic book movies were mostly flops before Iron Man & what followed. By the time WB realized what was going on they rushed to catch up, but didn't have a plan on how to do it.

Not really true. Spider-Man 1 & 2, X-Men 1 & 2, The Dark Knight trilogy, Tim Burton's Batman, Christopher Reeve's Superman movies were all successful and critically acclaimed for the most part.

Now that you mention it, I realize now that if it weren't for the MCU I don't think I would be into Marvel characters, meanwhile I constantly rave about DC characters despite not being into the DCEU at all.

this is my exact experience! dc properties were so loud and proud in the 90s and it's sad that they never really harnessed it back then when they had the stage. (i mean, who the hell was captain america and iron man before mcu?) dc has the better storylines and characters but their ego is too big to really take advantage of that. :/ it's so disappointing!
