Right now it has to be somewhat difficult to sell him as a director to a female star. But time doesn't just heal all wounds, it also makes Hollywood forgetful. *insert 'Meryl Streep's standing ovation for Roman Polanski.gif' here* Remember when Mike Tyson in the Hangover movies? Or the Oscar nomations Mel Gibson got for Hacksaw Ridge?

Joss Whedon's larger problem is that he is just not a great director or writer yet too idiosyncratic to be a competent/invisible jack-of-all-trades studio director.

I would argue his larger issue is that he is a racist misogynist, but yeah

The fact that he fucked up Justice League might actually be a bigger career blow to him than any of his racism and misogyny, which is always fun. Studios care about $$$$. If you can bring it in, you're protected. If you can't, well, no need to take the heat for a bad bargain.

This! If Justice League had made a billion dollars, the studio would be covering these stories up and signing him on for more films.

Obviously. Makes you wonder about some more successful directors.
