There was an early interview where they mentioned doing more weird timeline stuff, lol
I do think that a rewatch is more rewarding, but yeah, the timeline is an obstacle for first time watching when you're just trying to casually/background watch it.
Tbh I love shows that aren't passive in their storytelling. It forces you to pay attention and I enjoyed the show much more for that. There's plenty of basic linear shows on TV tbh.
paying attention wouldn't have made shit any less confusing when they don't tell you the timeline is moving and two of the characters don't age but you're supposed to notice a little gray in a guys hair. like what
i mean i always super focus on tv shows and the witcher time jumps still confused the fuck outta me until the middle of the season. i never have shows on the background unless its a show ive already seen before.
It literally took me right to the second of seeing the Witcher and the Queen together before I was like oh this happened in the past! Lmao even when that Mousack guy was there greeting Geralt just before she came in I was like wow he moved onto a new kingdom really quickly!
I swear on my life there was an interview with the showrunner after the first season where she basically indicated they were done with non-linear storytelling. At least to THAT extent. Ultimately the characters are finally on a linear storyline with each other. (That’s of course not to say there won’t be some flashbacks.)
