Colin Firth to Star in Adaptation of "The Staircase" for HBO

Colin Firth will play convicted murderer Michael Peterson in a dramatic limited series based on the documentary series "The Staircase."

A bit confusing? "The Staircase" is a documentary that followed novelist Michael Peterson throughout the trial for the murder of his wife, Kathleen. HBO has ordered a fictionalized adaptation, since there is apparently not enough true crime content out there.
