Britney Spears Files to Remove Her Father as Personal Conservator
- According to court documents filed on Tuesday and obtained by Variety, Britney Spears' attorney Samuel Ingham has formally requested that Jamie Spears resign as Britney's personal conservator and be replaced by Jodi Montgomery.
- Montgomery has been acting as Britney's temporary care manager since September 2019, when her father stepped down due to health reasons - he has yet to resume the role but remains co-conservator of her estate along with the Bessemer Trust Company.
- If the request is granted and Montgomery assumes permanent conservatorship of Britney's person, she will have: control over Britney's medical treatment; the power to "restrict and limit visitors by any means," including prosecuting necessary restraining orders; and the ability to appoint security guards & caretakers.
- The next court hearing is scheduled for April 27th.
