Larry shippers and the like are really no different than conspiracy nuts. They make up their own reality and only see the 'evidence' they want.

If there are, someone for the love of god, find them and make a documentary or something. Because I’d love to hear about it, but I don’t want to meet them.

But then I wonder how many QAnon supporters are okay with anything other than violent heterosexuality and/or are LGBTQ.

I doubt it. Most shippers of gay male couples (real or fake) are usually liberal females who think they are doing something for gay rights by shipping these men and trying to force them out of the closet.

The new version of that that I came across today was a bunch of children saying "I was so worried I was fetishising MLM but I can really just be genderqueer and it's okay!?!" -_-

all the more reason to investigate because if this thing is happening simultaneously apart, then what is the link and are well susceptible to it

When you realize how much of their “proof” that they pass around is photoshopped or just straight up fiction, it’s mind boggling. There are so many straight up fake “quotes” from 1D members passed around as real on the regular too

Yep, I was thinking this as well and was going to make this comment if no one else had. Very much the same mechanisms going on in terms of looking for “evidence” and being an echo chamber of taking any small little thing and blowing it out of proportion/loosely linking it to a bigger story.

I used to be somewhat close with a girl who has a history of doing this. It’s usually m/m ships and she talks about them as if it’s fact, as if they are boyfriends and it’s not even a dispute. They’re usually niche couples that no one outside of those specific fandoms would know, and when I first met her I just assumed the shit she was saying was factual (bc I didn’t care about the people she was talking about), but now that I’ve seen the pattern and know some of them are bullshit, I assume all of them are.

Her most recent one was Armie Hammer/Timothee Chalamet. No idea what she thinks about everything going on with Armie, but I feel like she knows better than to post what she probably really believes.
