Honestly, I've never seen anyone try as hard to get awards recognition and widespread adoration as he does...since Taylor Swift. A clear indication of how when girls and women try hard to succeed they're seen as annoying, unlikable and desperate, but when guys try hard no one really picks up on it and they still get to come off as effortless cool, chill and successful.

Reminds me of John Mayer's and Justin Timberlake's thirsty, non-stop networking asses while the pop girls got shamed for caring and trying...

Honest question, what has he down that has made you feel like he tries so hard for award recognition?

I ask as this is the only American award show for either music or acting that he has attended in the nearly 5 years since he went solo. This will also be only the 3rd award show at all in that time frame. Absolutely think he wanted the Grammy recognition but I don’t get your point about award recognition overall when he has yet to even attend an award show and we have people like Shawn Mendes and Justin Bieber who attended nearly every single one year after year

No OP, but I'll take this one. And I say all of this as a fan.
He was quite careful with HS1, he was a little unsure of how it'll be received and I don't think he was after one at the time. A lot has changed since then tho. He's never attended anything where he wasn't guaranteed an award or the spotlight (Met Gala for example. There's no way the year he chaired was the only one he was invited to). And he (or his management) has been very busy this time around with having his name out there. With Olivia, with the movies, with the other awards his nominated songs have been getting. He might not do it as "obvious" as Swifty, but his team is 1000% doing the most.

Dont know if he did the awards circut, but he was smart enough since the 1d days to do solid business connections. The Azzoff seem to pour a lot of money/effort in his career and he made a lot of celeb connection for what it seems to be his charisma (or good drugs lol we will never know). So i could see him easily doing low key efforts like being pleasant to key members of the academy while his team do the most.
