i've never seen any of the saw movies. does the villain/mastermind really show up on a tricycle?? is it supposed to be scary??? i guess it would freak me out to see some made up weirdo on a childrens bike.

the last scary movie i saw was the ring (naomi watts version). my husband has been on a crazy horror movie kick lately and he said he'd never seen the ring so we saw it and he liked it. i keep wanting him to watch hostel but he's not into gore.

the villain has a puppet that sometimes shows up to instruct the victims about the games they are going to play. Usually the puppet appears in pre recorded videos as an avatar for the killer but he has also been shown riding the bicycle. the puppet is called billy and the killer is called jigsaw. also the puppet is not alive. its juts a puppet

Jigsaw does show up on a tricycle, irrc, but it's a ventriloquist puppet, not a human like in the gif. The first Saw is good, imo, but I never really got into the other ones.

I love the first Saw so much! I haven't seen all the movies in the franchise but I found the Saw 8-film collection on Ebay for very cheap so I grabbed it. I plan on watching all the movies in a marathon so I'm ready for this new one!

I vaguely remember seeing the 3rd one (I think??) in theaters with a friend and he was so scared, he was covering his eyes lol. There are some really gross scenes, but I was never really scared of it. In all my years of watching horror, there's only been two movies I turned off before I finished because it was too much for me. The Hills Have Eyes and Cannibal Holocaust. I really enjoy the score to Cannibal Holocaust tho!

I know you said you already bought the collection so this is useless lol, but i believe the entire series is on HBO max now! i was planning on doing my own watch since i’ve only ever seen the first one & the most recent ‘Jigsaw’ one lol

From memory the second film wasn't even really a Saw film - they adapted an existing script, so they could film another one quickly.

I could never do the Saw or Hostel movies because I can't handle torture.

That is exactly why I never watched them. I don't mind horror, but I hate gore. So slasher movies are not for me.

maybe he'd watch hostel part 2? i don't like the first one cuz bleh torture porn, but i enjoyed the second one cuz the jokes-to-gore ratio was pretty even and it took the edge off somewhat (i like my gore as highly unrealistic/kitschy as possible lol).

without getting into spoilers (if you care), the series turns into a sort of very gory Law and Order SVU, in the sense of it being like a procedural with characters who had minor parts in one movie, be the star of one of the sequels. If edited together in a certain way, the first 7 movies could arguably be one helluva one season tv series for Netflix.

But if you're not into crazy gore, these movies ain't for you.
