why does tay pounce on new girls like white on rice.. i know she's a fan but damn.

it seems like gossip and speculation really elevates a song. page out of tay's book.

Taylor needs new young (more talented) virginal pop girl blood to stay relevant now that she's turned 30 and realizes her career is on the downturn.

(i'm kidding guys)

to stay relevant? idk but iirc it was similar for Lorde when she first started

not that that's a bad thing bc i'm sure being co-signed by taylor swift helped the song gain popularity and it's always good to see women supporting each other

Absolutely. Cause there's a special place in hell for women who don't.

I think because a lot of them are fans of her. Camila, Halsey, and Olivia all credit her as an inspiration. IDK if Lorde ever claimed she was a huge fan.

yeah Olivia loves her and was so excited by the acknowledgment so even if I don’t care for Taylor, it was sweet

lorde kinda hated taylor when she started out, she criticized her and i'm like 90% sure she chose kanye over taylor on one of those this or that games lol
also i think the joke of taylor turning enemies into friends started bc of lorde

If I remember correctly, Lorde said something shady about her or pop in general...or people put them against each other. Idk. Then they were friends lol.

I am 100% convinced Taylor sought out Lorde to neutralize her as a competitor

She’s still such a juggernaut in music but I wouldn’t be surprised if once she decides to back away or “ages out” of pop star fame she’ll still be relevant with the young generation and can mentor them and possibly work with them behind the scenes, it’s a way to further cement her legacy on top of passing the torch probably

I don't like Swift as much as the next guy, but come on...she is a very successful woman in the industry. Isn't it totally understandable to reach out to younger women in the industry and offer her contacts?
