Pretty much every golden globe is bought and paid for in some way

I feel bad speculating if it's NOT the case, but I wouldn't be surprised. I very much like Gaga, but her performance in AHS: Hotel wasn't noteworthy imo, and she somehow beat Queen Latifah and Kirsten Dunst. Though - it could've also just been a case of the HPFA giving it to her because they wanted to bump elbows with her, idk. The ASIB nominations made more sense than giving her an award for AHS Hotel, especially when that category was SO stacked that year.

they have a tendency to give out a bonkers award that doesn't make much sense at least once a year or so. though now it's not so surprising considering these recent relevations.

Thats how she won the Oscar, those things are kiss ass festivals and she's the type to bend herself into a pretzel to get people to like her. Im sure voters were treated very lavishly by her, you gotta do what you gotta do I guess

She actually deserved for Shallow

I think Oscars are the hardest to win IMO. They let Leo and Kate wait a long time, and let Bradley Cooper go home Oscar-less despite the studio machines pulling out all the stops. Though, this still doesn't explain Alicia Vikander randomly winning (surely that was Ex Machina goodwill though? IDEK....)

Oh no im not denying the impact of that song, that was one of my moms favorite songs. I just meant that if anyone would go all out to buy approval it'd be her, I've always heard you gotta attend all the lunches and send gifts like crazy to win them over. And yeah, that was a really random win cause it didn't even help her career, if anything it was detrimental.

Can you imagine if that rat girl from those singing movies won?? Oof.
