-With DC Comics 'Superwoman' Rebirth title hitting its 5 year anniversary this year, creator/writer/artist Phil Jimenez went down memory lane of the hassles and hopes he had for the title.

-Phil was on the title for the first 8 issues before leaving due to creative reasons. He wanted the title to be an exploration of women, friendship, and allyship, and their intersections with race and class; sibling rivalry, stolen credit; and the cost of revenge; burgeoning LGBTQ love; panic and anxiety.

-Due to all of the events going on in DC and Superman, Superwoman was rendered as non-canon pretty quickly.

-He was told that he needed to appeal more to Trump supporters

-His proudest moment of Superwoman was when he was able to let Lana Lang call Lex Luther a giant piece of shit.

After Zack Snyder quit Justice League, rumors swirled, fans got toxic, and the superhero movie tanked. Now, the director tells his side of the story ahead of the #SnyderCut https://t.co/UlIfGcuIfB

-VF looks back at all the drama that happened with JL and how it got us to where we are now with Snyders JL cut coming out next month.

-After BvS underperformed critically, WB/DC wanted Justice League to be a lighter film and something that could connect to more fans. As the film was going on and they werent liking what they saw, they assigned Geoff Johns and Jon Bergs to watch over the production of the movie, mandating that one of them always had to be on set and to work with Snyder to make changes to the script.

-One idea that Zack had was that Bruce would fall in love with Lois Lane after Superman died and it would push him to want to bring Superman back. WB/DC shut it down. Of course this wouldnt be the first time the two were romantically involved as Bruce/Lois dated briefly during Superman: The Animated series.

-The studio wanted JL to be a billion dollar film and when they were shown the first cut of it they were not impressed. For one they thought it was to long and thus the 2hr mandate happened.

-Snyder thought that having to introduce 6 characters within 2 hours would be hard to do and would make a lot of cuts that helped flesh them out as individuals.

-Geoff Johns recruited Whedon to help with some rewrites to the film which Snyder was fine with. But it evolved into WB giving him more and more power. This, paired with Snyders daughter passing away would lead to Snyder exiting the film.

-An exec who works at WB admits that they were unimpressed with Whedons film and knew the film was trash.

-Snyders cut cost roughly $70 million to finish and Zack forgoed getting paid in order to have full creative control over the film.
