it's impossible to reason with people who are like this. like, i think people can change; i think people who've been indoctrinated into her worldview can get out of it. but i think trying to actively convert people who are this deep into that mindset is a losing game. it's really up to them to stumble across information that creeps through the cracks, to be receptive to the truth, to learn and grow of their own volition. otherwise, it's like trying to reason with people who are in a cult. they just will not accept the most important thing: that they are IN A CULT.

To me, the whole point of the comparisons harkens to "Never again." Like, we don't want to go down that road, not even halfway, not even a quarter of the way. Rather than, "this is just as bad as Nazi Germany," though honestly, people should not be making comparisons, imo, period. And even though Gina is trash, I kinda "get" the intent behind her dumbass post. HOWEVER, her persecution complex around what she downplays as "wrong-think" rather than racist, awful beliefs is where that comparison falls through. Being a dumpster fire of a person is not an immutable, static identity, and it's certainly not one worth defending. It's not the same as being a Jew in Nazi Germany or an undocumented child seeking asylum and being put in a camp. 🙄
