I don't know a lot about Sue Storm but think Jennifer Lawrence is a good choice for this type of role.

Sues whole vibe is like...maternal, peacemaker of the family. JLaw always comes off as aloof and snarky to me at least, she doesn’t seem like a good fit

Okay yes I can see how that doesn't really line up with how we have seen Jlaw so far. I meant more generally I think something like a comic book role would suit her better than a lot of the dramatic roles she has done more recently. I thought she was good in the Hunger Games and haven't seen her in X-men so I am obviously not the most informed on this subject!

Don't forget the other aspect to Sue's character: constantly reminding people that she once single-handedly took down the Hulk.

Haha. It’s so dumb how she’s basically defined by her relationships to male characters but that’s what 60 years of being written by men looks like

Yeah, all of Stan Lee's early teams were like that, unfortunately; Jean Grey & Sue Storm were the sole-females of their teams and had ranged powers that allowed the writers to keep them out of battle (when they weren't being damsels in distress) whereas over on Avengers the sole female (Janet) was essentially her husband's sidekick.

I think all three of those women had stories where they designed the costumes for their team members, and also were fashion models? I know for sure Jean was a model, and Janet was a designer (but I think she also modeled,) and while I'm not 100% sure about Sue...I'm confident that she probably did a photo shoot or two.

Stan's stories probably helped inspire Whedon's 'feminism,' lbr.

Yeah I watched this Marvel documentary Behind the Mask and the writers (I think it was Kelly Sue Deconnick) said that in the older comics the female characters power sets were all just to stand around and model because they all had like psionic abilities they could pose with and still look good.

I thought she was kinda maternal in winters bone, and the hunger games too. I think she could be good.

I think she'd make a great Human Torch! It's about time that role got genderswapped

Shit, now I really want this. She'd be such a good fit for Human Torch!
