Well, that’s kind of terrible, hope the kid’s okay? Not sure why you’d want to share that.

Also “renting out teenagers” sounds so wrong lol.

plus you’re rich, surely you can HIRE teachers with tutoring qualifications who are equipped to handle these types of situation better than a teen might??

Hugh's whole brand is being a douchebag so I'm sure they were trained tutors and he's trying to sound droll.

I tutored a few kids for a little stint. I realized how underequipped I was for some of their needs. But also, how much of a privilege it was for parents to be able to afford a tutor. I never had anything like that growing up, and it could've had a huge impact on my successes/failures.

So on one hand, I do think educators should be the ones tutoring, but classroom teachers are already overworked and underpaid as it is. The teacher really needs to be paid worth their time to tutor, but if that's the case, it really widens the gap between the haves and the have-nots....

If it's his most recently-born son, then he's 8.

His sons are 8 and 9.

“Rented”??

You don’t rent people, you hire them.

If that’s what he actually said, it shows how little he thinks of them.

It's easy to mix up words.

Very true, I’m particularly bad at that lol.

That being said though, Hugh Grant is kinda known to be an arsehole so this seems very on-brand for him.

This is not the funny little anecdote that he thinks it is.

I really don't like Hugh Grant and basically if he's in a thing and is certain to get punched in the face, then it's worth it. otherwise I avoid him.

Even costars with whom he still speaks will happily say they hate working with him. Emma Thompson makes no bones about the fact that he's a pretentious asshole, but she seems to shrug it off.

Oh no

I probably wouldn't have shared this.

I hope his child doesn't have great physical harm. Also is reviving help for this.

I feel really bad for his sons tutors as well :(

“I’ve rented two teenagers to come and homeschool them,
Um really hate as uncomfortable with this phrasing
