February 7, 2021 In her new piece Anne Helen starts by talking about all the research that went into the making of the first one and how it was a star image analysis, like others she wrote for Buzzfeed.
She also talks about the harrasment she received because of it - including "threats to cut (my dog) Peggy’s throat" and calls out industry publications for "publishing entire articles with headlines like “Armie Hammer Slams Anti-Armie Hammer Buzzfeed Article.”" and notes how this style of reporting can direct more harrament to journalists that talk about media with big or toxic fans.
Petersen points out that even outside of his so called fandom, she got a lot of negative feedback, people saying she was being too mean. She goes to explain that image analysis is not a take down, and she wanted to show how the system mantains privileges that are fundamental at constructing a star's image.
She links to articles about what has been reported about him and says she has no faith in the end of white male stars in Hollywood: "The leeway afforded these men is unceasingly astounding".
