Wynonna Earp to end on SYFY after its fourth season

Feb 06, 2021 21:56

SYFY announced that the back half of Season 4, which is set to air on March 5 at 10 p.m. E.T./P.T., will be the final six episodes of the show. The show was already on thin ice since IDW Publishing (who owns the rights) had a hard time finding funding for the show, so it's been helped/saved by the fans after Season 3.

Did they ever bring Dolls back? I haven't watched in forever. Can't stand Wynonna and Doc together.

The character was killed off because the actor wanted to leave so he could do more films. And since I see some bullshit every time the show is posted here - it was Shamier's choice to have Dolls die.

because the horrible way his character was treated when he was on the show probably had nothing to do with him wanting to leave

Kind of like how Nichole Beharie asked to have Abbie Mills killed off Sleepy Hollow. We all know the real reason behind that.

This is the only place I see this narrative

Emily used the same excuse when she killed off the only Black character halfway through Lost Girl too. She's known for being racist and underutilizing Black actors until they quit due to being treated badly.

Yeah, I remember one of Shamier's exit interviews, he mentioned how he wished they could have explored a lot more of his character and his relationship with Wynonna and being bummed about it.

Just because it was his choice doesn't mean it wasn't a result of the direction his character was going. Black actors don't leave leading roles for maybe film careers. Hannah John-Kamen played two characters on Killjoys and still did Ant-Man and the Wasp.
