I despise American exceptionalism and our inability to see anyone but ourselves, but I do think that given how the GOP is desperately trying to pretend nothing happened and not bring the y'all qaeda insurrectionists and their bitch daddy to justice, it's relevant. The only reason the US is not in the same boat is ineptitude.

I agree we've got to stop finding how every situation is relative to the US, or only caring about something insofar as it's relevant to us (or going "thank god we're not that bad!") but unfortunately because of Trump's attempted coup, his supporters are now pro-coups in general:
