Because it’s considered really fucking offensive and sexist over here and is almost exclusively used to describe women. It’s not super commonly used in the US, so when you do call someone that it’s a big fucking deal. It’s not like calling somebody a bitch or an asshole. It’s much worse and more specific.

I'm sorry, but the UK and Australia aren't misogynistic like the US. Women are treated almost reverently in those places, which's demonstrated by their completely harmless and innocuous use of that word. They've more than earned the right to use it without judgment or repercussions.
