It's a crime that between Fatal Attraction and Dangerous Liasons that she was denied twice in a row.

I kind of agree, but I also don't want to live in a world where Cher doesn't have an Oscar.

Considering Jodie Foster went on to win again, I think Glenn should have won in 1989, I remember reading that Liasons was one of the worst studio campaign fumbles at the Oscars. It was a super late release that year and missed most precursor awards (it didn't get a single Globe nom). It just didn't have enough time to gain buzz, especially considering in those days voters literally had to see every movie in cinemas as opposed to screeners being sent.

In retrospect it's considered to be the clear favourite in most above line categories, especially considering it's biggest competition was Rain Man. lol

She's absolutely overdue, but apart from 1989, she's never been the best in her category. Even in 88 Holly Hunter was widely considered Cher's biggest competition.

She was 'supposed' to win one for The Wife but Olivia Colman pulled off a surprise win for The Favourite.
