my dog doesn't care as much, but my roommate's dog does join us at the table sometimes.

My parents' late cat, Penny, had to have a seat at the table. If there wasn't one, she would jump into someone's lap. When we had people over, we had a chair specifically for her at the table. She wouldn't jump onto the table, she just demanded a seat there. I eat on the couch so my dogs are RIGHT there next to me.

I have cats so it's not really a choice but when I do eat at the table the old man sits in the other chair across from me and waits for me to feed him little bits of food lol

The dog at my boyfriends house does eat at the table. My father in law sometimes feeds him his food with a fork...

My dog likes to get up on a bench a few feet away from the table while we eat so he can feel included and keep an eye on us. He doesn't make a sound, just gazes longingly at us (the food) the whole time.

Heck naw. Our cats know that the kitchen counters and dining room table are off limits. Sometimes they get bold (especially at night), but the minute they see our disapproving glares they skedaddle.

no, not really. our cat is usually sleeping when we eat dinner or wandering around. sometimes my mom will hold in him her lap when she's finishing, but we don't feet him table scraps either, lol.

if he's awake he'll sometimes sit at the entrance of the kitchen waiting to be let in, which is both very sad looking and adorable.

I haven't ate at my table in I don't know how long, but it is very obvious Rufus lives with a single woman. He won't make attempts for plates or food if it's sitting there, but as soon as he hears me scraping the plate to get the last bite he comes over to wait for my bowl/plate to lick clean.

When my family used to eat around a table, our cat always sat in the extra space. Dogs go under the table.

After my brother died, my family couldn't sit around the table anymore, so for the last 15 years we eat at tv tables. All pets at that time and all subsequent cats and dogs very quickly learned what we all very quickly learned: Daddy is a soft touch. So sometimes there will literally be a cat sitting on my dad's shoulder if he's got cheese.

My cats sleep on the chairs in the kitchen a lot, they like to look out the kitchen window. Sometimes they’re there when we’re eating and they mostly don’t bother us. Except my boy cat is obsessed with dairy because my partner eats cheese and yogurt. He’s also obsessed with Tofutti sour supreme

Yes my dog has to sit on a chair with us if we’re eating on a table inside or outside when we grill. If there’s no chairs available he’ll lay down underneath my mom’s chair and cry until someone sits him on their lap. My mom spoils him so much lol everyone is just used to it.
