Aw. It’s a very chill and mellow album that fits a specific mood

I feel like people listened to it on Spotify/YouTube but didn't actually buy the album. I knew it wouldn't debut top 10.

Streams count for charts though.

Oh I know that. Most people didn't even know he had an album. People I told about it say that they'll listen to it eventually. There's no buzz around it so not many are listening or streaming it. Most aren't buying physical or the digital copies of it either. It was never going to chart well honestly. He just dropped a song then the album within a week.

If all the people liking his social media posts bought his album, he'd be higher on the charts.

The numbers are not “good” by any means but I was definitely expecting lower chart placements. In the US he’s gonna do slightly less in sales the IF that had merch bundles so that’s gotta be a “win” cuz at least he didn’t have another huge drop off. (It also did wayyyy better then LP1 that did but that also says something about just how bad LP1 did how Liam hasn’t been dropped is crazy)

fans gotta stop just blaming the label though. RCA has no reason to prioritize Zayn in 2021 and sending out more physical CDs would have been expensive and risky and wouldn’t have moved the needle enough to matter

Fine Line is also an absolute monster that I think gets kind of downplayed on ontd. It’s almost no longer fair to compare it to any other 1D solo album

Yep. Fine Line was huge and it was promoted by Harry and his label. I don't think it's fair to compare it to any 1D album at this point either. It's literally still charting in 2021 because it's a commercial success with the GP. ONTD hates Harry so they downplay most of his success but let's be real, the album was wildly successful.

Most probably don't even know Zayn released an album. I think a lot of the GP thinks he only had his debut album. I don't think we can blame it all on RCA. Zayn took a different career trajectory than Harry. I loved Zayn's first album and quite a few songs on his second album.

If Zayn's happy where he is then that's all that matters.
