I had no idea he was in a new CW show already. He's been getting steady checks from them since 2000. It's wild.

they loveeee casting the same men over and over again

Chad Michael Murray was in Dawson's Creek, Gilmore Girls, One Tree Hill, Riverdale
Riley Smith keeps popping up too, most recently in Nancy Drew
Simon Rex had a good thing going until he became Dirt Nasty

I've heard various podcasts that mention WB Network used to pay actors to NOT get roles with other networks, just to keep them available to the WB. They don't do those contracts anymore but CW loves the recycling.

Once a network likes you...they will keep you around lol.

Katie Cassidy holds the female title for most WB/CW shows under her belt?

Already forgot who the male was but Melissa Benoist's husband was in Supergirl, TVD, his virus show and im sure some others.

pretty much, that's how Riley Smith put it (I listened to a super old episode of him on Brett Gursky's podcast, long before he did Nancy Drew and Frequency, and he was like "CW keeps me coming back because production likes hanging out with me")

well, color me (genuinely) shocked. i thought with cw's demographics no one would watch this boomer-aimed show.

It has to be all of the Jared Padalecki fans following him over from Supernatural.

Nah not that many people watched Supernatural, it's probably the people they got who were fans of the old show based on the name plus(or including) the ones they got from advertising on Fox News. Plus it had zero competition.

so "total" doesn't mean the Nielsen ratings, it's streams too? I guess that makes sense

+ people bored at home
+ SPN fans with nothing else to do?

It's because they advertized this show out the wazoo, including on Fox News, you couldn't get away from the ads for it on tumblr. They definitely went after that old Walker audience

It also had zero competition, there was pretty much nothing else to watch that was new in scripted drama on network tv.

Supernatural series finale drew a 1.4mill audience. I dont think he has an extra 1mill that have been waiting for him to just star in a new show lol

idk, he could have fans from when the show was good 10+ years ago, who don't realise it wasn't just the writing that declined rapidly
