Don't people check what they want before they get into a relationship? Like, the kids are a package deal with him, they always were.

I mean, yes and no. It can be a little overwhelming to be on a first date with someone and they immediately start talking about, "Oh I'm looking for something serious and I want three kids and a summer wedding."

This makes me wonder about the people on bumble who select 'Marriage' in the 'what are you looking for?' section - I always assume its a joke answer unless they're like 37+ years old, but maybe not?

I don't think they're joking, some people just date to get married, some people date to have fun

I'm from the Midwest and I know a lot of women who would only date with the intention of marriage. (And all were married by 23 and half divorced in our early 30s...)

I have 100% read a comment here along the lines of "what's the point of dating unless its for marriage?"

Nothing wrong with being clear about your intentions on a dating app.

Marriage as an end goal is perfectly fine, its moreso the subtext/timing of declaring it this way, for me.

I guess they want to weed out the "let's see how this goes" type of people or people who are anti marriage. I really don't see anything wrong with being upfront about what you're after it saves miscommunication and awkward conversations down the road. My profile says I'm looking for relationship any one looking for "something casual" or "don't know yet" gets a left swipe.

I don't want to waste my time tbh. I've been with plenty of great guys where ultimately kids or marriage weren't things they were sure they wanted, ever. I'm not someone that thinks that marriage is a goal to tick off but if a guy isn't mature enough to to not run off when someone is hoping for commitment in their relationship (or even talk about it) then I don't want them around.

I think the travel thing is a fake excuse. Because he travels for work all the time. He just filmed his new Duel movie in Ireland last year and the movie before that was filmed in New Orleans.

He could travel if he wanted to, it's a matter of time management and priorities. That's not why they broke up.

Absolutely. And its not like LA isn't the heart of the entertainment industry -- if you're an actress LA isn't the worse place to at least have an apartment if it isn't where you want to 'lay roots'. Making it sound like Affleck lives in Idaho or something.
