Kelly opens her talk show with a cover of a song (or sometimes one of her own songs.) I think it’s fun because after American idol many called her a karaoke star and here she is twenty years later performing karaoke every day on her hit talk show.

I dislike Mayim so much and everyone I know who calls themselves a "highly sensitive person"/empath is full of shit tbh, and uses it as a reason not to take responsibility for their actions. It seems like a very privileged thing to be ~diagnosed with.

IDK, maybe I was just raised by a mom who, if I told her something like that, would be like, "A what, now? Cool story, go clean your room." Like I get anxiety and being sensitive but sensitivity isn't a medical diagnosis for most who claim it, I would guess.

I agree with your point about "highly sensitive people." One ~empath I know is the absolute worst. She's exactly how you said-- doesn't take responsibility for her actions and on top of that, she's a Trump apologist. She doesn't talk politics because she believes in "the right of privacy" but I think we all know what that means.

Is she a SAHM, by chance? Most SAHMs I know are badasses and not like this, but the ones I know who are like this are SAHMs. It's, like...a thing

She's a 29 year old who lives with her conservative parents in Chicago. She's always lacked self awareness (she's white) but as a self acclaimed empath, you'd think she'd be a little more inclined to see other perspectives.

I bet you anything the number of white American women who call themselves empaths/highly sensitive people is astronomical compared to any other demographic, and I say that as a white American woman.

You'd definitely win that bet.

People calling themselves an empath is the biggest red flag.

Empaths are sensitive to OTHER people's feelings, which is always a good thing. Bragging about being an empath is like bragging about being a good person.

highly sensitive people aren't the same as "empaths" although many HSP subscribe to this phony characterization. being HSP is scientifically proven as 1/5th of the entire human population is estimated to fall somewhere on the highly sensitive nervous system continuum. dr. elaine aron's entire life work is dedicated to the science of sensory-processing sensitivity. i suggest you look into the actual empirical data on HSPs before you make quick judgements. although i can understand since a lot of pop psychology and pop culture conflate buzzwords like "empath", "psychically attuned", etc. with highly sensitive.
