I mean, rapid testing isn't accurate enough for it to matter imo, and then people would be rapid testing and just doing whatever, that actually might make people more reckless. It's bullshit that rich people think testing twice a week means they can fly everywhere and gather, it doesn't work like that. Some of them even GOT COVID and still don't get it.
My neighbour got covid on the 16th (and was absolutely shocked she got it because she was so careful when she would go have bi weekly lunch get togethers at her friends house with 10 other people!!), thankfully she was sick for 3-4 days while her husband at first tested negative but after a week he was also positive but he also had very tame symptoms (and he still had fever up to 3 days ago) but according to her she now can already leave the house and go get groceries since she was contagious only up to 2 days after she got better... even if her husband is still sick.
It's been- amazing how people claim to be careful with COVID but in reality, are being reckless. Fauci's recommendations are honestly not that complicated, and I don't know why they're lying to themselves.
Thats the thing that gets me when ppl say they are "careful" when they are not. i see so many people say they were "careful" and got COVID but their way of being careful could mean anything from wearing a mask below the nose or gathering with 10+ ppl or etc.
i feel that ppl use "careful" to justify going out and not following precautions that are put in place. its disgusting and careless about others who are taking the pandemic seriously.
I know people who are PhD-level scientists, got COVID from being reckless (thankfully recovered without any apparent long-term issues at this point), and are still doing all sorts of things. It's not to the extent of flying and such, but gathering (one even went to the movies) and so on.
