When I was young we had a few old theaters that seemed very magical to me as a kid (a “crest” theater with a balcony), but those closed pretty soon after and we were only left with a shitty multiplex that never had good movies. So I guess I just don’t have the attachment to watching movies in theaters like some people.

I do miss our drive-in though. That was fun.

I was never a big moviegoer until I started seeing my bf, and not truly until the past year or so did it become a routine thing for dates. I miss it more than I ever anticipated, I think it’s the thing I miss the most aside from normal gym/pool hours :(

Yeah, and I think it's a shame that those are the movies we have to count on. There's nothing wrong with them, but sometimes I'd like to just see Moonlight or Midsommar in a theater with 3 other people.

seeing Atomic Blonde with 2 other people and myself in the front row and Arrival all alone were beautiful experiences. Also IMAX 2001 By myself is the highlight of my moviegoing life.

These were movies I also saw in non-packed theaters. It was clearly being shown on the screens that they use for opening weekend but it was the Thursday after and I loved the intimacy of being in a big ass room with a handful of people lol
