I believe they got closer after Frances got divorced. Her ex was trying to claim that Frances gifted him with her late father's guitar. Courtney tried to help her daughter fight to keep that guitar. In the end the dude won....but I think that also helped Courtney and Frances bond over such a loss.

IIRC, Courtney's story has always been that she wanted to quit immediately when she found out she was pregnant, but her doctor advised against it because the withdrawals would be worse for the baby than a step-down program would, so she eased herself off of it instead by taking progressively less each day.

I promise the medical community has the ability to safely wean someone off heroin. In patient. Often replacement medications are used as cold turkey is hell on anyone’s body, not just while pregnant.
