In addition to wanting you to buy a vibrator, Helena Bonham Carter wants you to join the dating app Bumble! Dating is hard enough as it is and during a pandemic, it's harder. Placate your nosy family members who ask you why you're still single during the holidays by joining a dating app I guess?

I gave dating apps my best shot last year around this time, and it was one of the most demoralizing and depressing experiences of my life! Never again lmao

It feels super awkward. I find it so hard to try to connect w ppl on an app if the elephant in the room from the word go is 'will we or won't we (be romantically compatible/date/fuck/?), there's no breathing room for friendship first.

Yes, it's so uncomfortable and unnatural! Every conversation had all the stress of a job interview. I especially hated when guys would immediately ask if I wanted to go out - I wouldn't just agree to go out with a random stranger who approached me in public and asked me that within a minute of meeting, so why would I agree to it on an app where I can barely even tell what this guy really looks like?

Srsly! I mean I get wanting to meet bc you might have a completely different chemistry in person but I grew up in the generation that was told to not give out RL infos to internet strangers and a lot of it has stuck, just meeting some rando is still an effort to me. I don't mind if it's someone I've been talking to longer like my online buddies but it it's abt dating from the get go... I'm v distrustful.

lmao same, I guess all my grandma's warnings about how everyone on the internet was secretly a kidnapper really stuck with me. I also can't fathom even WANTING to meet someone based on seeing a couple pictures of them and exchanging like 5 texts total. I don't even know if you can hold a conversation yet, tf do I want to put in time, effort, and money to meet you? I had not one, not two, but THREE separate men ask me if I wanted to get high with them by the FIFTH MESSAGE, like what on EARTH, dudes, slow your roll!
