If I still care what I look like in my old age just put me down tbh.

Personal vanity is hard to get rid of...the older I get, the more I realize this. The hold lessens, but it never goes away. My gran was still all about looking nice up to her late 80s/early 90s.

I've seen old people with older tattoos, I don't think it makes them look any worse lol.

i know what you mean, but your comment is definitely making me imagine people that got tattoos as fetuses so that the tattoos are older than they are 😂

Girl, get your tat if you really want it! Don't worry about 'old' skin.

Trust me, they won't care. If anything, you're going to be paying more than what you're going to get. Most tattoo shops have a minimum price point that they charge regardless of how small the tattoo you're getting is.

Tattoo artists don't get insulted about having to do little things, but ime tattoos almost always end up needing to be like twice as big as you think lol. It's not like just making a line drawing where you can use a really thin line, because thin lines tend to blow out.

and personally i take the opposite view. would i rather have weird veiny skin when i'm old, or weird veiny skin with kickass art on it? :D

tbh, when I'm old and wrinkly all over, the least of my worries will be how my tattoos look.

I'm in the process of getting one of my tattoos removed though, but that is because it's the only one I didn't design/draw myself, so I feel a major disconnect.

The comments on this thread are making me feel better about my tats, because this used to be my fear too. The "What about when you're old!" comment that people love to make. Who cares? When I'm old, my skin isn't going to look great - tattooed or not. Why should you miss out on something you really want, or picture yourself with now, just because of inevitable aging? It was an experience I wanted and something that I continuously pictured. Sure I'll be an old tattooed lady but it will all be part of my story.
