From what I understood the two recorded the songs separately and it wasn’t meant to be a collab but then they mashed them up.

Not at all. 1st reason is they're both under RCA so they can easily take a song both parties did and say "hey, we're mashing this up, it's going to be a collab, deal with it." Especially if the only promo they have to do is a tweet, and aren't obligated to shoot a video or do any proper promo. 2nd reason is that she's under conservatorship and doesn't have any say in anything regarding her life, be it business or personal.

I find this idea that Britney is an unicorn who can never be held responsible for any choices she makes pretty fascinating. Maybe she just doesn't give a fuck that he's been accused of rape.

It takes literal minutes to google someone famous you're going to work with. This isn't an attack on you, it's just that it's pretty clear that if this had been any other female artist collaborating with these assholes, people here would be ripping her to shreds.
