Ponzi Scammer Publicist Allegedly Targeted Mindy Kahling, Megan Fox, and Other Celebs
An elite publicist named Andrew Garson who had been named a "40 Under 40" publicist has been indicted on charges of wire fraud. He worked for the prestigious pr firm MWW Group, which represented several celebrities.
Garson allegedly stole around $2.5 million by swindling the firm and its clients. For example, he created fake budgets for nonexistent pr projects involving Mindy Kahling and Megan Fox.
The federal inspector in charge of Garson's case said, "Mr. Garson may have plenty of time to utilize his keen public relations skills if convicted of the charges."
