Esquire EIC Michael Sebastian interviewed Perry Mason star Matthew Rhys, with photographer Sebastian Kim snapping some photos of him at a house in the Catskill Mountains.

Yeeesh, I normally find him very attractive, but not in that beard!

How lucky he got filming for Perry Mason out of the way in the nick of time...I wonder, is it worth watching if one isn't normally a "Law and Order" fan? I love Rhys, but not sure about the genre of this one.

it doesn't feel like a procedural at all tbh

Good to know! I can deal with some proceduralness if the character drama is good.

i'm not sure what s2 will be like but this season had one case throughout and it was deeply weird and engrossing and it was great

Hmmm... to me, it's more of a grim noir character drama than a legal procedural, but there are definitely elements of that.
