- According to actress Emma Corrin, the show doesn't follow any plotlines that don't directly link to the Crown or the Queen herself; thus, the wedding is skipped but we get a glimpse of Diana's wedding dress.
- The same is said for skipping over the kidnapping attempt on Princess Anne in 1974 on the show's third season.
