Keke Palmer: “food stamps should only work on healthy items”

The singer and host took to Twitter to say: “imagine if your EBT card could only work on healthy items... 👀”. EBT or food stamps, is a government program that gives individuals with low incomes a monthly budget for groceries.
With many people thinking that the idea that the government should control what recipients are allowed to buy is bad. But Keke defended her ideas that she’ll cap for access to healthy foods, meat and produce to the benefitted individuals since eating healthily is overall a good thing for health.
Still, many were upset that Keke, a wealthy person, was trying to control what poor people eat, and instead of trying to limit what poor people can eat, work to fix the poverty adding that healthy foods come with a higher price tag.
