Nov 02, 2020 16:08

Right on the heels of Election Day, I decided to finally finish this post I started a month or two ago but have been procrastinating on -__-" I'm not sure if there's a way to see if these celebs have made donations through other means, but I've sourced this post from the FEC's individual contributions data and cross-checked against OpenSecrets.

Daaaaaammmnnnn Eva! I do predict part of that $$$ is because she plans to run for office herself but I'm not even mad. She's smart, she's articulate, and Texas needs good Dems in power. Surprised Scott Baio even has $30k to spend. I mean, why would he spend every penny he's made in the last 25 years on politics? Silly man. Reese has such Republican energy, I so often overlook her politically, but kudos Re-Re.

Baio had a great investment banker and he lives cheap. He’s the guy who was always afraid of being broke and minded his money. He was interviewed on some morning show when I was at the doctor years back. I’m surprised given how cheap he is he donated. Maybe he wanted the write off.

But damned if all those rumors I heard yeeeears ago about him being on white supremacy boards doesn’t feel true given everything that has played out.

I don't think you get a writeoff if you donate to political things, though?

I thought it was? That was why they wanted corporations to be seen as people who could donate. And lbr dirty money.

Do we have an accountant around to answer?

You are right they are not. My bad I thought they were. I haven’t given in years though I have worked some local campaigns. I’m too damn poor. Lol

But you are right. The more you know.gif

I thought they were too! That charities and political crap was an instant and easy deduction. Maybe they changed it? Idk. I’m glad I learned the truth but I legit thought this for...idk ever?

That should be the slogan for us though. “Like Canada but the opposite.”

(Yea duh Canada ain’t perfect and has plenty of their own bullshit but you gotta look hard to beat the USA on bullshit in 2020 so..let the joke live peeps)

And I forgot. I don’t love the idea of any celeb running cause it usually doesn’t work out well. But Eva does seem like she tries hard to educate herself on the issues and work at a ground level. Instead of taking over everyone cause she is famous. So I wouldn’t hate it (would like to see her platform of course) if she ran in Texas.

Same, I was expecting to find more of a Republican lean for Reese, so I was pleasantly surprised
