He had fired his agent and decided to quit acting altogether. He trialled for a barista job as well but didn't take it. Why would they? I gaurantee people who've worked with and known him for years probably knew more about his personal beliefs than randoms combing through his social media likes and follows do and they still got up to defend him. Any "correction" will just be them walking it back now that it's too contentious an issue, not because they learned something new that made them rethink.
