Ally Brooke reveals Fifth Harmony considered replacing Camila Cabello with a top female artist

In a new interview promoting her book Finding Your Harmony: Dream Big, Have Faith, and Achieve More Than You Can Imagine (out now!), Fifth Harmony alum Ally Brooke revealed that the group considered "several different options and routes" to take in the wake of fellow member Camila Cabello's abrupt 2016 exit.

Though the drama is given minimal attention in her book (and Cabello's name does not appear at all), Brooke does briefly write about how Fifth Harmony's management wanted to replace the "Havana" singer with a new member found through a worldwide search reality show and even floated the possibility of offering her spot to several "well-known young artists and celebrities."

"I don't know if I can share, but one would've been really cool," Brooke told StyleCaster. "She's at the top now, and everybody loves her. I love her.

"That wasn't what we felt like would be right for our group, even though we love this other singer, and she's awesome. She probably wouldn't have accepted anyways because she probably would've said the same thing, like, 'I don't know if I should step in here.' And her career is already blowing up."
