so it's like a foregone conclusion that she'll be confirmed? and the dem senators are doing nothing to delay it? like truly what is the point of having them represent us if they won't work in our best interests, i can call john cornyn and ted cruz all the do diddly day and they won't listen and senate democrats are just like ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

She's going to be confirmed. The Democrats can stall as much as possible (and they should be but I don't know what they can actually do during a committee hearing), but she's going to get confirmed. I mean, I'm sure we have who knows how many Republicans who are positive in the Committee hearing who are refusing to get tested so they can keep the hearing going. If Republicans are willing to put people's lives in danger where they could contract COVID and suffer/die, there's not much the Democrats can ultimately do.

But, obviously, they should be trying.

they absolutely could be kicking up more of a fuss, how can an impeached imbecile have 3 justices confirmed during his term without more pushback

Yeah, but there really is little they can do.

I think it speaks to an overall larger failure of the Democrats to understand the long game in regards to the courts like the Republicans did. Our only real hope is to win the Presidency and to win the Senate so we can get rid of the filibuster and pack the courts.

i hope there's hella consitutional amendments, to prevent so much of this from happening in the future

Same. Unfortunately, I don't see many amendments to the Constitution passed. People can go on and on about how great the Constitution is because it's a "living document" and all that, but I think this is all just another example of how broken things are by following a constitution that set up a government in a way to try and keep slavery around for as long as possible.

funny how the constitution lays out a rule of law that overwhelmingly favors cishet white men like the people who wrote it

Yep, and Republican judges who say they're "originalists" aren't being slick at all because you know what they would want.

There is really very little Senate Dems can do to stop this. McConnell makes the rules for the Senate. Dems can try to slow things down procedurally, but nothing they can do will be enough to delay the process long enough to stop it.

So.....

time to pack the cooooourts
