it's AFTER they broke that couple up so Stydia could happen that Malia fell apart and I rebuke this idea that she is a love of Scott's life when we have Kira and Derek and Stiles and Isaac instead

I would have wanted to see more of her relationships with the others. Lydia and Kira in particular (i love friendships!), but the showrunners ran the show to the ground the last two seasons (or more). You know what also could have been interesting? More about her and Peter, or what it means to be a different shifter, like how is that decided... but again, the lore of the show was also ridiculous.

And when it comes to Peter and her I think a LOT about the theory that, before Colton left, initially Jackson was going to be revealed as Peter's child. There was to be a whole arc with him and Danny but then he left and we got the Alpha Pack season hastily put together instead

But then they spontaneously broke Stalia up - not even something onscreen - so Stydia could hastily be put together (undoing all the prior work to get them to a healthy friend place) and make Lydia's feelings super intense for him and they had Scott & Malia bond over Stiles being an asshole but it just never played as romantic or at least not as intensely as they wanted it to be.
