Yeah, I literally stopped watching shortly after he came. Just didn't care anymore, got boring.

Came in here to say that. Didn’t even look further on the list after that terrible first take.

He was a good villain and should have gone when his initial arc ended. Then it became the Hook show and characters were literally killed off to make space for him. Awful.

I still can't believe how dirty they did Nealfire just to clear the way for Captain Swan.

They didn't cast Neal very well. It played into the statutory rape aspect that MRJ looked so old.

Because of the flashbacks? They kept JenMo for those as well and he's only a year older than her.

Not necessarily. He just looked so scrubby and much older than JMo in general but the flashback did really hammer it home that Emma was a vulnerable minor and he was an adult. It was a mistake to let Jen act as her teenage self just because Lana did. And a huge mistake to let MRJ considering he looked like he was in his 40s.

I will admit they had some chemistry through, which is a rarity when Jennifer Morrison is involved.

His character was attractive and that was literally all he had going for him and they completely derailed the show to make him a main character because people were thirsty for him. His character was garbage and the story became a hot mess trying to bend over backwards to redeem him and make him a hero.

He was okay, but stuck around for too long.

I think he could've potentially been great if they'd kept him as a real villain but lol nope

The show did better in every way starting with ratings before he came along. The writers trying to make him front and center really killed that show.

You’re right and you should say it

which sucks because if they had used him differently, he could have been a GREAT character.

If the writers were able to stick to some characters just being villains he would've been fine. Had he teamed up with Peter Pan (who shouldn't have had the connection to Rumple) it could've been so much fun.
