On her birthday Brie Larson vlogs trimming her own hair and cleaning out her closet (she donates to charities for formerly incarcerated women and homeless lgbtq teens). She talks about self-love, body image, having eating disorders and anxiety, and learning it's ok to use her voice and take up space.

It's just wholesome, relatable content.

I've never watched an interview with her, but I watched those audition storytime videos and was deeply confused. This is the person people insisted was so unlikable? Literally why? She's fine.

Asshole men insisted she was unlikable. Us others knew all along that she was cool.

The same men who make YT videos complaining about how "SJW" and "Wokeness" is ruining entertainment.

I like her but I don't see the point of her in a world that has Alison Pill, Alison Brie, Jennifer Lawrence and Olivia Wilde. She is basically all these women to some degree and I just...who is she? and why?

people don't need a reason to hate women

She doesn't try to placate straight, white male egos and that is a capital offense to a lot of men.

She is amazing.
I think the reason people "don't like her", is because their only real exposure to her was Captain Marvel. I remember reading reviews that her acting was "off", and that the way she played the character wasn't what people wanted, and that led people to say she was the wrong choice/etc.
I think either she, or someone from her team commented and basically said she was playing the part based on the original Captain Marvel, who *was* the way she acted in the movie, and that people wanted the 'larger than life, funny, movie version' of their super hero.
Idk, tbh, I'm not a super hero fan. My favorite movies with her were Room, The Unicorn Store, and I LOVED her in United States of Tara.

Also, I think the other reason people secretly hate her, is that she seems so "normal" and "average" that it's surprising she achieved such success, but is able to upload videos on YouTube that make you look at her like a normal human. Not an easy feat or a common thing for an Oscar winner who starred in a Marvel movie, tbh.
