I’m thinking of rewatching glee just for Santana.

7. Lola Skumpy, Big Mouth analievelyn October 4 2020, 02:05:27 UTC
"We’re never quite sure what wild insult will come out of Lola’s mouth next… and we’re also not sure if we should frown on her smack-talking ways or pity her truly bizarre home life. Child Protective Services should probably stand by."

Her character makes me uncomfortable. I'm bothered by the way she's written tbh....

Anyone else?

blair should be here, but brooke was never a mean girl to me, other than maybe a handful of episodes at the beginning. i think rachel being the oth selection makes sense. brooke was the ~hbic of the show tho

brooke would definitely be the queen bee imo, but maybe not so much as a mean girl? blair missing is an oversight though, even if they say georgina was the ~true hell raiser~

Also, as someone who watched popular when it was on it's ABUNDANTLY CLEAR to me that every character he's ever written for Emma Roberts has been him trying to make a Nicole Julian character work for the 2010s in a way that people would accept.

Popular is one of those shows I liked at the time - because it made me feel more grown up watching it- but that I will never really revisit in concext because WHEW!! That said, I still want a high school reunion movie to tie up all the loose ends from the last finale

did you ever read how Ryan Murphy wanted to do the next season if it hadn't been canceled? we're lucky it did get canceled because he was going to ruin popular, just as he ruins all other things he creates that start off good.

Creator Ryan Murphy said in the episode commentaries (and other interviews) that Harrison did choose Brooke over Sam, and she fled the scene because Sam was so hurt. Also, Sam would have become a lesbian in season 3, and Brooke would wake up a brunette after her coma. Also, Josh would get a gambling problem, leading Lily to move in with Josh, and Nicole would walk after lying about Mike sexually assaulting her, leading her to drink and drive and accidentally hit Brooke.

In the second season, Carmen's pregnancy was apparently cut from the show. This was one of the plotlines Ryan Murphy said he would explore in season two, along with a romance between Harrison and Mary Cherry, and Siamese twins. The cut order was given by the WB just a week before this episode aired, forcing Ryan to re-write the episode and eliminate this story completely from the show.
