Absolutely unsurprising.

His supporters will probably view this as him out smarting the irs or something else insane.

Here’s what remains painfully obvious: Donald Trump is the zenith of failing upwards. He’s bad at EVERYTHING. And i think your average mediocre white person looks at him and hopes they can be grossly incompetent and succeed too. https://t.co/f0AmTBu885

Trump sycophants LOVE that he’s a crook. They want him to cheat the system, lie, and rip off America.

In their twisted minds, he’s a folk hero, like Pretty Boy Floyd sticking up banks.

Makes them feel a measure of revenge for having to pay their fair share.

yeah i feel like trump supporters see something of themselves in him, whether it's his crookedness, his crassness and lack of decorum, his blatant racism, his greed

and are willing to overlook the parts they don't like in order to uphold that reflection

This is it. And as long as a brown or Black person's life is worse than theirs, they can continue to uphold that reflection as a 'win'

Yep, they'd do the same in his position so they don't have a problem with it.

there were some scandals of wealthy republicans evading taxes in my hometown growing up, they dont care. and they're the ones always getting upset that 'illegal aliens' dont pay taxes.

That’s the comments I was seeing in my local new station Facebook feed - that or FAKE NEWS. NOT REAL RETURNS

The irs can release anything they want to..audit or no audit

They don’t care. I brought this up repeatedly in the past to my ex father-in-law & he said people like Trump (and him-bc he doesn’t pay his fair share either) and he insisted that people like Trump help the economy through the jobs they create so they don’t need to pay their taxes.

Yeah I’ve already a few

I’m like frankly my dear I don’t give a damn.

If like a single parent or whatever has to “maneuver” the system or or get creative to save a few bucks on taxes- fine

But you sir- FUUCK yoouuu ! U have enough money to pay the whole East coat’s taxes. And it should be marked down as an inconvenience fee

Those are the type of people who are okay with rich, powerful people getting away with tax evasion but get mad about immigrants or poor people not paying.
