US Weekly reports that Demi Lovato and Max Ehrich were on “different paths” and that led to their split.
A source tells US Weekly exclusively that the pair’s work schedules caused issues in their relationship.
“In the beginning, Max was super careful about self-promotion and things with his career, but once they got engaged, he really hit the gas pedal and wanted to make the most out of his career opportunities,” the source says. “He felt more comfortable doing so after they were fiancés and had a little bit more of a leg up.”
The couple began dating in March and Ehrich proposed to Demi on Malibu beach in July. This month, Max began filming a movie in Atlanta and Demi stayed in Los Angeles. Another source said that the long distance started to cause issues for the couple.
“The distance has been weighing on them,” the source explains. “She has been seeing how much Max’s fame increased since being with her and it left a bad taste in her mouth.”
Before the news of their breakup, friends of Max and Demi expressed skepticism that the couple would make it down the isle.
