TikTok influencer ignites huge feud between Philippines and Korea, starting the #CancelKorea move

Bella Poarch, a Filipino TikTok celebrity with 27 million followers, uploaded a dance video on the platform, in said video, a tattoo of the rising sun can be seen on her forearm, immediately prompting Korean users to unleash a barrage of hate towards her, with many of Bella’s countrymen defending her. The incident escalated in such manner that racist remarks were hurled.
The affair has been raging on for the past days with no apparent signs of diminishing, causing users from the Philippines to start the hashtag of #CancelKorea in retaliation for the attacks made by Korean internauts against the Philippines, sparking discussions among people supporting either side.
The rising sun is a symbol from feudal Japan, regarded as extremely offensive in South Korea and China for representing Japanese imperialism.
