Nurse Ratched is, no doubt about it, an icon. This is her story from a groundbreaking book to an Oscar winning movie and now a Netflix series of her very own.

i haven't seen any of the episodes yet but i probably will at some point just because there are so many amazing people in the cast

i posted this in the roundup yesterday but i'm posting it again because it made me lol

I heard Holden Caulfield shows up in the hospital at the end of Ratched to set up the AP English Cinematic Universe.

I managed to not get assigned A Catcher in the Rye and read it on my own; I would have preferred it to A Light in August and The Grapes of Wrath. After there was a chapter about a turtle crossing the road, I skipped the first half and they were still in Oklahoma!!! Suffered through the rest just to get to some grand point about one of the characters breastfeeding an old man uggghh. We had the worst AP English books. Had to read The Stranger, Madame Bovary, and Heart of Darkness too (and again in college, we get it, the horror, the horror!!! of being the only black woman in a college course that liked to read excerpts aloud and everyone awkwardly pausing when getting to nigger while trying to avoid looking at me!)

AP English was so terrible.

The ninth grade English teacher at my school gave me a copy of Catcher in the Rye when I was in sixth grade because he thought I would get it and I now assume that I was just fucking obnoxious and terrible.
