Nurse Ratched is, no doubt about it, an icon. This is her story from a groundbreaking book to an Oscar winning movie and now a Netflix series of her very own.

the original lady looks really pretty.

The amazing Louise Fletcher, who among many other great roles, played the wonderfully manipulative Kai Winn in Star Trek DS9

I followed this viewing guide, which I liked bc I could see in one spot if the episode sounded like something I’d enjoy, so if I decided to watch anyway but got bored after all, I knew it was safe to skip. Some of the Ferengi episodes, especially early on, are really rough.

thanks for this, DS9 is also on my list and I have used a similar guide for Voyager as well!

I *love* DS9 but am more "meh" about the other series. Kai Winn only shows up in DS9, though. It's surprising how few episodes she is in, compared to how memorable she is.

I feel like you're the only other person I've seen who feels the same way I do. I love the themes and storylines in DS9, I also love Sisko to death. I tried watching TNG, and I just can't get into it.

You're not alone, hard same here. TNG always seemed a little silly to me. Ds9 got into some rough shit when it rolled up its sleeves.

Also Louise Fletcher alway looks weird to me now without the Bajoran nose ridges.

I don't know if you're on F*cebook, but there's a pretty good DS9 group there that even includes some people who worked on the show.

With DS9, yes. As it’s more of a continuous plot, especially from season 3 on. (It’s my fave ST show)
Any other ST show you could probably watch the first few ones and then jump around a bit
