The twist is that [Spoiler (click to open)]she didn't travel through time. It's taking place in the present, she got kidnapped by white supremacists who turn brilliant black people into slaves and like to cosplay as slave owners.

Yep. And who thought it was a good idea to even proceed with releasing this movie right now! Talk about not reading the room. No one wants this garbage right now or ever really. The trailer did a good job fooling people though, lol.

And the movie is really really graphic when it comes to violence against black people. It's not thought-provoking to have one-dimensionally evil and cruel white people as villains. Not only it's triggering for black people, but you know that racist white people will think "See! I'm not racist! THIS is racism!".
A big fail.
